Literacy Program
|
Literacy is a program offered by VegMin Learning Society and funded by Alberta Advanced Education, Community Programs at no cost to the learner.
Free private tutoring is offered for Canadian adults (age 17 or over) who would like to improve basic literacy skills including reading, writing, math, English language and/or computer skills.
One out of five Canadians find it hard to read or write. It's never too late to improve reading, writing, math or English language skills.
****New this year - Seniors have the opportunity to come in and increase their computer literacy skills.
Each student is matched with a trained volunteer tutor who provides individual instruction for 1-2 hours a week This format allows students to set goals that are specialized to their desires. Flexibility is offered to suit individual learning styles. Students receive one on one instruction.
Tutors receive training, opportunities for personal growth, professional development and ongoing program support.
Note: If you or someone you know could benefit from this FREE service, contact VegMin Learning at 632-7920 or stop by the office for a confidential consultation.
