Welcome to VegMin Learning Society

VegMin Learning Society is a non-profit organization funded by Alberta Advanced Education, Community Programs.

VegMin Learning Society Council consists of agencies and members of the community who are dedicated to lifelong learning and offering quality non-credit courses in Vegreville and the County of Minburn.

If you would like to become a member of the Council and help maintain a wide variety of learning opportunities for adults in this area, please contact us.

2009 Women's Conference - Live Your Dream

Was a Roaring Success! 128 women had the opportunity to participate in sessions on Family Health & Nutrition; Cardio Salsa Work Out; Self-Compassion; and Living Your Dream. There were 21 women entrepreneurs that were able to showcase their products.

Many thanks to the business community for supporting the conference - either through door prize donations; goodies for the participant bags; or sponsoring tickets.

Summer Boot Camp

This session starts on June 10th and ends on July 22nd, 2009 from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.

A challenging full body workout suitable for participants at a Beginner or Intermediate level of fitness. Consists of interval/cardio training, plyometrics, core muscle conditioning, and strength training.

Our fitness instructor is a chiropractor, a cirtified personal trainer (Can-Fit Pro) and a group exercise instructor. She brings with her clinical expertise and fitness training from a variety of environments, including training at outdoor boot camps, Back/Abdominal conditioning; and older adult fintness.

The instructor's priority is to provide the tolls and knowledge that will empower participants to take an active role in their health by living a balanced lifestyle. Are you ready to take charge?

VegMin Learning Society's Community Portal Now Here!

Did you know that there is a Community Portal in Vegreville? October 2008 VegMin Learning brought one to the area.This portal www.aroundvegreville.com is for non-profit, volunteer organizations within the area to be able to have a web presence at a reasonable cost.If your non-profit, volunteer organization would like to learn more, call 780-632-7920 and we'd be happy to explain the benefits of the portal to you.

Video Conference Now at VegMin Learning!

On Wednesday, November 26th, VegMin Learning staff met with iCAN project manager to determine the feasibility of becoming a regional video-conferencing site. By the end of the meeting, the equipment was installed and a trial run was sucessfully completed.

Wages at Work

In partnership with Alberta Employment and Immigration, VegMin Learning is pleased to bring this informative session to the local area employers.

The workshop will be held Tues. May 5th 2009 from 9 am to 3 pm in the large meeting room at Alberta Employment and Immigration, 5121-49 Street, Vegreville.

This workshop provides a comprehensive hands-on learning experience designed to provide participants with a better understanidng of the rights and obligations of employers and employees. under the Employment Standards Code.
